Hand in Hand Lottery is More than a Dream

This personal story from a Moncton family man really puts the Dream Home and Hand in Hand Lottery in perspective!

The older I get the more I realize how small the world really is. I’ve been fortunate enough to have never had to deal with any serious medical conditions myself, but I know a lot of people who have. And they know people who have. And they know people who have. We’re all connected in ways we can’t even imagine, which makes Martell Home Builders annual Hand in Hand Lottery all the more important. Again this year the team at Martell has generously donated their time, and of course one of their beautiful homes, to raise funds for Friends of the Moncton Hospital and the CHU Dumont foundation to fund amazing and vital projects that will ensure our cities hospitals continue to lead the charge in providing the the health services our city needs, as well as finding, and keeping, the best medical professionals.

When my son was born, he had a valve in his heart that didn’t close properly. With many thanks to the staff at the Georges Dumont Hospital, it was spotted right away and all precautions were taken to make sure that he would grow into the amazing and healthy boy that he is today. This may not have happened to you directly, but we’re all connected. Now you know someone who it has happened to. This is the importance of what the Hand in Hand Lottery is accomplishing.

This year Martell Home Builders has an amazing dream home up for grabs in the Royal Oaks neighbourhood of Moncton. Fully furnished by local expert Josée of Azure Designs, with furniture from local staple Lounsburys. Imagine being able to just walk into your new home, hang up your clothes and know that the rest is taken care of! Add in the $100,000 cash included with the home to cover anything Josée and the team at Martell might have missed! And most importantly that you, and your friends and neighbours have given generously and enabled our local medical professionals to keep doing what they do and make sure that if something happens to some you know, they will be well taken care of.

A 3600 square foot home, completely furnished by a professional, in a beautiful part of town. Within walking distance of our new beautiful high school, and well within a short drive into the heart of the Greater Moncton area. These are amazing benefits. But at the end of the day, what I think is most important is knowing that even though the winner will have benefited by having this wonderful home, or even one of the other amazing prizes, our city and it’s residents will be better taken care of by the generosity of that city and it’s residents.

Jane Jacobs said in her book The Death and Life of Great American Cities “Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created by everybody.” Martell’s Hand in Hand Lottery is our opportunity to keep creating the city we all want. Resurgo.
