Top 10 Moustaches of All Time.

Whether you call it a mooostash, must ash, mo, stache, or moustachio, no one can deny that moustaches are in this month. Here’s a list of our all time favourites!

Known for his Hawaiian shirts and well groomed facial hair, this beaut has not slipped our radar. Tom Selleck, your stache is dashing.

No one screams manly like Parks & Rec‘s Ron Swanson. I’ll bet he ate all the eggs and bacon without getting a crumb in his “chevron” styled stache: “You may have thought you heard me say I wanted a lot of bacon and eggs, but what I said was: Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.”

Our favourite prince, got a little fresher when he started to grow this bad boy.

Some may think Rhett wooed Scarlett with charm and romance, but we all know she simply couldn’t resist his stache.

Eddie Murphy is one funny guy, but no one can laugh about that upper lip decoration.

A perfect depiction of what a handle bar moustache should look like. Good job Hulk!

Master of the Addams’ household and master of the perfect stache. If you’re going to grow a moustache, might we suggest grooming it like Gomez Addams?

There’s not much to say about silent filmmaker, Charlie Chaplin’s moustache. It is what it is and we like it!

Our friend Ryan from Martell Realty grew a particularly fabulous moustache in 2001 during Mount Allison University’s infamous moustache month.

Grown last Movember, Pierre Martell knows how to rock this chevron like a boss! We can’t wait to see what this season will bring!

Whose moustache tops your list?

Colour Palette of The Month: October

“I’m so glad I live in a world with Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn’t it?” -Anne Shirley.

The month of scarves and pumpkin spice lattes has “fallen” upon us! With temperatures cooling off outside, warm interior hues are a must! October couldn’t be a better month to incorporate this spicy palette! When looking for timeless decor, it’s important to balance bright colours with trend-setting neutrals. This warm palette does just that by incorporating both grey and brown with savory cinnamon, pumpkin, and vanilla.

We think these colours work well together to make an inviting common space. A warm backdrop will make guests feel welcome, while you will love spending down time cozying up with an exotic tea and book!

An alternative space for this palette is the Master bedroom. We are loving the idea of pairing a wooden wall with grey bedding and warm accents. This look artistically combines both modern style and classic comfort. Would you choose a spicy autumn palette for your living space or would you rather keep the cozy colours in the bedroom?

Eco-Friendly Homes with Uber-Cool Designs

Green Home(Image Credit)

There are some green homes out there that are … well, way “out there” in terms of design. On the other hand, there are eco-friendly homes that look really cool, which proves that you don’t need to sacrifice style for sustainability.

Home for Life

Home for Life by AART

AART Home for Life

The above home is a zero-energy home; it was created by Danish architects AART and has been dubbed Home for Life. Here’s what they have to say about this awesome green architecture:

Home for Life is a self-sufficient and CO2-neutral demonstration project and thanks to 7m2 solar collectors, 50m2 solar cells and a solar heat pump the house produces more energy than it consumes. With an energy surplus of 9kWh/m2/year it takes approximately 40 years for the house to generate the same amount of energy that was used to produce its building materials and at that point the house will have returned more to nature than it consumed.

Cliff House

This breathtaking off-grid home was designed by Altius Architecture. To fully appreciate the beauty of this home – without actually visiting the property and seeing it with your own eyes – check out the full description and several photos the Altius Architecture website provides. Here’s a snippet of what they say:

Designed for an off-grid property, this cottage will feature a hybrid wood/solar radiant heating system with propane backup. Evacuated tube solar arrays will fill mass store tanks that feed a hydronic radiant floor system. This system will supplement a passive gain and solar mass strategy. Summer cooling is through solar shading and passive stack effect ventilation. A series of photovoltaic panels provides the buildings on the property with electricity. Large overhangs control the solar gain while green roofs mediate temperatures and control runoff.

Modular Homes

Pre-fab (prefabricated) or modular homes are eco-friendly and cost-effective. To see several photographs of some amazing modular homes, check out our blog post called Coolest Modular Homes from Around the World.

Container Homes

These eco-friendly homes are becoming more and more popular as housing costs rapidly increase and people become increasingly aware of the environmental footprint they’re leaving. Container homes have several benefits, including affordability, durability, sustainability, the ease of expanding and relocating, and the speed of construction. Additionally, container homes don’t need to look scrappy and unattractive; on the contrary, these homes can be impressively designed. Check out our blog post called The Benefits of Container Homes to see some photos and learn more.
